The first established department in Korea, the Department of Mortuary Science plays a pivotal role in the development of related industries as well as academic achievement through further research on the practical studies such as ideological, historical background and the transition process of the country’s traditional rituals and culture, industry management system and management knowledge that is required by the modern society, and psychology of the bereaved and social welfare and so forth
After graduating the department of mortuary science, students can obtain funeral director license issued by mayor and governor under the national qualification system, hygienist license which is a national qualification conducted by Korea Health Personnel Licensing Examination Institute, and death coordinator license conducted by Eulji University under the qualification system for death coordinator
